Tiger - David Boudreaux
My artist book, Tiger., is an accordion style book that documents pictures of my cat, Tiger throughout her life in chronological order. From both sides of the front cover to the back cover, I incorporated photos of her from young to old along with text describing the photos and my associated memories with her. In 2020, Tiger passed away, leaving my photos and memories the things that help me remember her. As a result, I wanted to create my memory artist book as a way to commemorate her and memorialize these memories. All of the images in the book are done through image transfer techniques, however, I did not want them to look perfect which is why it is not fully transferred and there are tears in the pictures. Memory itself is not something that is always perfect, it is fuzzy, details fade over time, I wanted to represent this through my book. In addition, the pages are painted with a black watercolor paint that has streaks that I wanted to use to represent a fur-like texture. Overall, Tiger. Is a very intimate look into my own memories with my cat over her life.
